Mince Meat Triangles
INGREDIENTS
- 500g lean mince 
- 1 tsp minced garlic 
- 2tsp olive oil 
- 1 tbls chicken stock powder 
- 200ml tin crushed tomatoes ( I use mutti) 
- 1/3 cup tomato sauce 
- 4 sheets Puff pastry 
- 1 egg 
- Sesame seeds ( optional ) 
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees. 
- Thaw puff pastry sheets. 
- In a pot sauté garlic in olive oil. 
- Add meat and cook until mince is brown. Make sure you separate the mince as best you can ( You can use a fork but my favourite gadget to do this is the hackit @hackitaustralia). 
- Add chicken stock and continue to cook mince. 
- Add the canned tomatoes. 
- Add the tomato sauce. Mix well. 
- Bring to the boil. Then simmer for ~ 50 min. 
- Let it cool completely. ( I often cook the mince the day before and keep in the fridge overnight) 
- Cut puff pastry into 4 equal squares. 
- Put a heaped dessert spoon of mince in the centre of each square. 
- Fold over to form a triangle making sure it is sealed properly using a fork. 
- Place on baking tray. 
- Coat with egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. 
- Bake until golden. 
- Serve with a fresh salad.
